Dear {{candidate_name}},

Take some time to look over the offer and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

We can’t wait to see your skills in action.

Legal Stuff

Let’s get the technicalities out of the way

The official start date of your role is [START DATE].

NOTE (please delete): If this is a full time, employed position, use this section and remove the one below.

This is a [FULL TIME / PART TIME] position ([HOURS PER WEEK]) and you will report directly to {{manager_role_name}}, {{manager_first_name}}.

As an employee at {{your_company_name}}, you are entitled to [STATE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR WORKERS IN YOUR COUNTRY AND ANY WORK EQUIPMENT, E.G., HEALTH INSURANCE, COMPANY COMPUTERS, ETC.], which will be described in more detail in the [E.G. EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK].

As we mentioned, we’re looking to hire you for an indefinite period. That said, if you decide to move on with another company in the future, we ask you to give us at least [NOTICE PERIOD LENGTH] notice so we can begin the hiring process for your replacement. Likewise, if your performance isn’t where we’d like it, we’ll work with you to get it there before considering replacing you.

NOTE (please delete): If this is a contracted position, use this section and remove the one above.

You’ll be working as an independent contractor, meaning you’ll be responsible for your own taxes and any equipment required to perform the role.

As this is technically a contracting position, either of us can terminate the agreement at any time for any or no reason. That said, considering the importance of your position, we’d still like to get a heads up [NOTICE PERIOD LENGTH] before so we can start working on hiring your replacement. Likewise, if your performance isn’t where we’d like it, we’ll work with you to get it there before considering replacing you.
