While DocSend has made it to Capterra's 2021 shortlist of management software, there are some limitations to it when it comes to proposals. That's why we've taken the time to show you some key factors that make a big difference between Better Proposals and DocSend.

DocSend is primarily a document sharing platform. As such, it doesn't offer you any proposal templates. And while it does make it easier for you to get your proposals sent and signed, it doesn't save you time during the creation process.
On the other hand, Better Proposals has over 200 pre-written and pre-designed templates ready for you to use. In addition to that, all the templates are customizable, so you can modify them to make them your own. And if you're wondering about digital signatures, Better Proposals offers them as well.
If you want to have your options open with integrations then Better Proposals is the way to go. With over 40 available integrations that span from CRM to project management, you'll have an easier time finding what you need. And if you want to take it a step further, you can also integrate live chat software. That way, your clients can give you instant feedback, which saves both of you time you would usually spend emailing back and forth.
Hi, I need some help!
Hey Sarah, can you tell me a little more about what you need?
When it comes to DocSend and CRM integrations, the only option you have is Salesforce. But before you sigh in relief, there's a catch: you'll need to pay for at least the Standard plan to be eligible. Billed monthly, that's $65 for the plan and another $20 for the Salesforce integration per user. So, if you're running a small business, the cost can get steep pretty quickly.
When it comes to value for money, Better Proposals might be the better choice. While it's true DocSend's plans start at $15/month per user and ours start at $19, the features you get more than make up for it. For example, with Better Proposals, you can request signatures for five proposals on the lowest plan, while DocSend only allows four. In addition to that, DocSend only offers support starting from the Standard plan, while Better Proposals is here to help you for more than 20 hours a day.
And if you need a higher plan anyway so all of the above doesn't apply to you, now's the time to hear us out. When it comes to plans for sales teams, Better Proposals is still more affordable. Starting at $49/month per user, you can add an unlimited amount of slots for your entire team. With DocSend, it's not that simple.

Their Advanced plan starts at $250/month and allows for three users. So, if you need more, you'll have to cash up another $60 for each additional team member. Now, there is an Enterprise plan with DocSend as well, but the pricing for it isn't transparent, meaning you'll have to request a quote. But based on the pricing of other plans, it's safe to assume you'll end up paying more than you would if you chose Better Proposals.
When it comes to getting paid, the process will be easier with Better Proposals. With PayPal, Stripe, and GoCardless integrations, you can collect payment from virtually anywhere around the world. And as far as DocSend is concerned, there are currently no payment integrations available.
When it comes to DocSend, there's no denying that they're an industry giant. But compared to Better Proposals, there are more limitations for the end user. The lack of templates and the pricing that might be too high for small businesses are on top of that list. And after this year's acquisition by Dropbox, who knows what the future holds. Yes, the founders issued a statement that nothing is changing for the users, but with a big caveat - for now.
